What you can do with PostgreSQL in Sylus
Sylus lets anyone query PostgreSQL without writing SQL. Ask "How many new customers signed up each week this quarter?" or "What is average order value by country?" and Sylus writes the query, runs it, and returns an answer or chart, with the SQL shown so your data team can check it.
How the PostgreSQL integration works
Sylus connects with a standard PostgreSQL connection string and a read-only role. It reads your schemas, tables, and views to understand your data model, then queries only the objects you select. It works with self-hosted Postgres and managed services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Neon.
How to connect PostgreSQL to Sylus
You need a PostgreSQL user that can create roles, or a DBA who can create one for you.
Create a read-only role and grant it SELECT on the schemas you want Sylus to query.
In Sylus, add PostgreSQL as a data source, paste the connection string, and test the connection.
Select the schemas, tables, and views to include.
Connection string format: postgresql://user:password@host:5432/dbname
