What you can do with BigQuery in Sylus
Sylus lets business teams get answers from BigQuery without waiting on the data team. Ask "What was paid acquisition cost by channel last month?" or "How did weekly active users trend this year?" and get an answer or chart, with the SQL shown so analysts can check it.
How the BigQuery integration works
Sylus authenticates to BigQuery with a Google Cloud service account that has read-only roles. It lists the projects and datasets the account can see, reads table schemas, and runs queries only against the datasets you select.
How to connect BigQuery to Sylus
You need a Google Cloud user who can create service accounts and grant IAM roles.
In Google Cloud, create a service account for Sylus.
Grant it the BigQuery Data Viewer role on the datasets you want to analyze, and the BigQuery Job User role on the project.
Create a JSON key for the service account.
In Sylus, add BigQuery as a data source, upload the key, and select the datasets to include.
Dataset format: project-id.dataset
